Physical Education students thrive in an environment where they have the opportunity to physically adapt. An effective movement screen gives us a language to diagnose and to program movement interventions that- determine the starting point for movement training
  • Identify movements that may indicate future injury
  • Reveals truths and removes fantasy
  • Deliver a benchmark for movement competence
  • Provide a trajectory for movement dominance
A study in 2015 revealed a 400% increase in ACL ruptures in 10-14 year olds over the previous 10 year period, with female athletes 7 times more likely to suffer that injury. What is our duty of care for these athletes? Are we asking too much and preparing too little?

This workshop will contain the following:
  • Revision of anatomical movement vocabulary
  • Introduction and participation in a 6 component movement screen
  • Correctives & pillars of movement training that can be used in PE classes and Athletic training sessions.
